When this family was ready to design their dream home, they came to Lorenz Architecture because of their reputation for listening to their clients and developing solutions that met the dreams while remaining within budget. For this family, the design team developed a 3000 SF plan that took advantage of this combined farm setting and water view location. The ‘country style’ home is complete with a wine cellar, gourmet kitchen with cherry cabinets and granite countertops. The exterior includes a 3 car garage and a brick fence that leads to the pool in the rear of the home.

Lorenz Architecture was selected by a local contractor to handle the design phase of this renovation and addition project. The scope of the project includes a new master bedroom suite, 3 –car garage, work-out studio, and a family room with Cat 5e wiring for a home theatre. The existing diminutive front porch was replaced with a grand veranda. The new work-out studio was strategically located on the rear of the house to avoid additional heating from the daytime sun. Included in this studio are free weights, exercise machines, and mirrored walls.

Lorenz Architecture was retained to design a Master bath/changing area addition and renovations to the family room and existing master bedroom for this existing home in a neighborhood of grand traditional homes. The new Master Suite is 500 SF and includes two large walk in closets and the master bath has separate shower and bathing spaces along with a spacious changing area. The porches were redesigned, most of the windows were replaced, and a large rear deck with outdoor shower facilities was adduced. This project was completed on time with an extremely tight 3 month schedule for completion.

The goal of this owner was to design a home that blended in with the neighborhood and incorporate design cues from historic houses in this area while allowing for creativity inside the house. Materials used for the exterior and landscape for this 2000 SF house was selected for their low maintenance and upkeep. The open interior of the home has a separate multi purpose room on the first floor. The open living, dining and kitchen provide the owners with many options when entertaining guests; they can use the entire space for large groups or gather in smaller areas for a more intimate feel. The personal spaces of the house are located on the second floor.
