As
the City of Concord continues to grow, the development has kept
a focus on retaining the communities history and leveraging it
as part of the economic growth to come. Lorenz Architecture was
retained to be the architect for this adaptive reuse project based
on our ability to work closely with developers and deliver project
on time and budget. The goal of the project was to convert the
former Coca-Cola bottling plant and the adjacent Concord Creamery
into a thriving mixed use development to spur development linking
downtown to I-85. The project began with a full evaluation of
the existing structure, code evaluation, and completes Master
planning of the site and various options for additional buildings.
The new development will include retail, office, and multi-family
residential units. Construction of Phase I is underway, which
included the rehab of the existing shells and site preparation.
